Kion's Grandfather, Nala's Father

I kept seeing Kion popping up in groups over the past couple of days but I didn't realise he was actually an official character until this piece <da:thumb id="459900696"> haha So instead of drawing Kion, I decided to take from him the things that he couldn't have inherited from Simba or his paternal grandparents, and use it to make Nala's father at last! xD I'd love to draw a big family picture one day including this guy, I really like him haha

Just mixed things that Nala has different from Sarafina and things that Kion has that couldn't be from anywhere else and this is the result. Now we know what he looks like His name is Ling..... if Ki(ng) + (Li)on = Kion then the opposite can work for his name....even though it doesn't sound remotely African

I'm actually looking forward to the show anyway. It's obviously aimed at young children so they can't be blamed for making the design really naff but whatever. If something more fitting to the original movie can be derived and shaped from it then that's good enough for me. He could even be the crown prince of another spin-off universe (if we consider that Kopa has his own 'verse, and so does Kiara, without trying to slot them together), or just Kiara's baby brother! If I ever 'adopt' him into my verse though, he won't have that silly pawprint marking. It'll at least be drawn on in mud as his own personal symbol of being a guard xD
